Using 3D as an asset

I love how new technologies develop in order to expand the limits of design. They serve me to accomplish the expected goal with an easier and more flexible way. The use of a 3D software, such as Cinema 4D, helps me to enhance the process of my work and, most importantly, allows me to produce the images I had in my head and I wasn't able to reproduce with my 2D software knowledge.

This project is called "B1GBANG_AT0M%4RR4Y%BLO5S0M"

The next project belongs to the series of film credits I developed at the end of 2016. They are a tribute to some of my all-time favourite films. Part of them were filmed on a period where the credits weren't as important as they are today. It was fun to recreate them as a creative direction project. Again, the 3D is mixed with 2D photographs and design elements. Displacers, noise, blur and brushes produce a styleframe that can be shared with the rest of the production team.

The Z Axis for the 2D

I love how 3D can improve 2D designs. In a nutshell, I discovered that a basic knowledge in 3D software can improve exponentially 2D designs. It allows me to see the design from a new fresh perspective. For me 3D doesn't mean just modelling, lighting or texturing, it could also mean enhancing 2D projects.

This project's name is "Gridcore"

Words & typography

I like to experiment with different skillsets and softwares in order to produce different finishes and creativities, even in typography. Each character could represent an idea, a state of mind or a feeling. Here is my full project of my last "36 days of type":

Other examples on creative use of typographies. On these ones I used my creative name "ferranhead" as the main asset. I applied different techniques, textures, colours and softwares to create a singular piece of design.
